| | | baby bird found We had a honey suckle bush cut back last night. The dog found a live chick in the garden close by, eyes still closed but with feathers growing.I unfourtnatley found a dead chick. I guess that the nest was destroyed and the poor chicks fell out un beknown to the guy that cut the plant back. This happened last night at 5pm. we put the live chick in an old nest found in the garden and put him back in a bush close to the area where the honey suckle was, we made sure that it was procted from the elements. The chick is still alive, just, but i have not seen a bird visit the chick. Would the chick still be alive after 19 hours without it's mum? I'm worried to intervene incase she is around, even though i have not seen her. 19 hours is a long time to survive so i'm thinking that she must be caring for him. Please advise me? |

| | | Re: baby bird found yes 19 hours is a long time to survive. What sort of bird is it? Any rough idea?
If it is not being fed, it needs to be taken to a wildlife rescue centre asap. If parents are continuing to feed it, just provide extra food for the parents.

| | | Re: baby bird found As soon a sent the thread i noticed a pair of birds going in to the nest. If they are not the parents they would not be interested would they? so I guess my little chap has a chance now. I will put some food out for the parents. Thanks for your response. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
