| | | At the birdbath today (no surprises) Been observing activity & behaviour around the watering hole recently,
and I'm getting the feeling I tend to ignore the common visitors (/ some might say vermin).
Looking more closely they're actually quite charming & photo-genic:
You're too big for this tray
Drinking deep
Making a splash
Smart (dim) bird
Water or dust today ?
Why / who'd ring a wood pigeon ?
Never seen a blue/coal/anyother tit at the bath, where do they get their moisure from? |

Love your other pics too!

| | | Re: At the birdbath today (no surprises) Cheers Farplace,
seen stuff on the net about common birds being tagged, just for scientific distribution data,
guess there's someone doing that around my local area.
Still seems a bit odd.
Got another one that may be in trouble (look at the feet), it hobbling about,
should I try & help do you think ? |

| | | Re: At the birdbath today (no surprises) It will lose it's toes if the binding is not removed. Looks a bit like horse hair, but might be garden twine or something. I doubt you can catch the bird, but if you can, try to remove it and get it to a vet for an antibiotic course.

| | | Re: At the birdbath today (no surprises) I've got supersized fishnet, but can't see it being likely it would stay still long enough to be caught.
Think I'd have to sit/crouch behind the fence with net in hand & pounce - which might stress it lethally.
Slim chances of success I suspect, but if the opportunity arises I'll give it go
Mind you losing one out of many wouldn't be a disaster.
Before I stopped scatter-feeding:
