| | | Unbelievable + advice needed I'll set the scene.
I live in a bungalow in Coventry. Currently I am sitting in the corner of my living room eating my dinner. The door to the kitchen is open and the door from the kitchen to the garden is also open.
25 minutes ago in strutted a Magpie, with what looks like a broken wing, walked up towards me, turned, walked to the other side of the room (about 11 feet away) then jumped onto a bag I have on the floor and has been there, unmoved, since then.
That was a real shocker seeing a bird like a Magpie confidently walk into a house like that but the thing is I don't know anywhere that would take a Magpie in to repair the damaged wing.
Does anyone have any advice on what I should do?

| | | Re: Unbelievable + advice needed The bird walked out of the Bungalow and over to the other side of of the garden just over 15 minutes ago then a couple of minutes ago walked back into the Kitchen and as I type this has just walked behind me and through the living room and into the bathroom. It has now walked into my bedroom and is standing on an unopened box of fatballs.
When I try to go near it it gets very nervous so I suppose I am going to have to throw a towel over it if I have to take it anywhere.
I am currently waiting for the RSPCA to answer my phone (I have been hanging on for over fifteen minutes now) as I have no suitable receptacle to take the bird in to a vets. Hopefully they will come and pick it up. If not I will have to see if any of my neighbours have anything I can carry it in then if so take it to a vets.

| | | Re: Unbelievable + advice needed These are the best I could considering there's little, or no light where the bird is. In the first one you can clearly see the broken wing. The second is of it in my wardrobe on my shoes.

| | | Re: Unbelievable + advice needed It probably feels quite safe in the wardrobe as it is dark in there but when it was in the kitchen, with room to move, it wouldn't let me come near it so I don't think it is hand reared.
