| | | sick baby bluetit Hello,
I hope you don’t mind me contacting you but I’m trying to find out what’s wrong with this little one and I’m trying as many avenues as possible. I am in contact with Lower Moss Wood Knutsford (we live between Wrexham and Llangollen)and have just sent them the link hoping they will be able to view it but I’m going to ask on forums etc and hopefully someone may be able to shed some light. I would appreciate If you could take a look at the recording, though it is distressing. It’s little head goes floppy, to the extent that it looks broken, it will close its eyes and it’s little legs seem to disappear into his body, it would then wobble enough to fall. At times its eye also swells up. The episode only lasts a couple of minutes or so and shortly after he can be swinging off the curtains.
I am giving him tiny drop of zolcal on a mealworm daily at the minute in case its calcium deficiency.
I am feeding on live mealworm, I am now gutting them as well as chopping off their heads. It will eat a little “suet to go extra high energy suet pellets” from pets at home. It contains: suet, peanut flour, nijer seed, sunflower hearts, sultanas, dried berry, dried insect, calcium. Protein 18.8% Fat 33.7% Fibre 4% Ash 1.2% Moisture 9.1% I also have C J Wildlife Wild bird food “popular with a variety of species including goldfinch bluetit and greenfinch”again from pets at home I crushed it up a bit and put it in a dish but it doesn’t seem interested. This contains Sunflower hearts kibbled sunflowers kibbled peanuts yellow millet kibbled maize and pinhead oatmeal. Per 100g protein 20g fibre 3g carbohydrate 21g ash 3g 550kcal
I will be back in contact with Lower Moss in the morning but if anyone knows of an avian vet in my area please would you let me know.
I wish to be able to put the link to the video can I do this anywhere?
Regards. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
