Elmley Duck for ID please

Poor photo, shot almost straight into the setting sun from inside my car with my hand over the lens to cut out flare.

I can't find it in my bird book and am assuming it's a young something or other.

Was at Elmley on Friday. Preened itself for a while then swam towards me and got hidden by reeds etc. Medium size I think.

All ID help gratefully received.

Not a duck but as a couple have already said it's a juvenile Coot.

It's a Coot. Best way to tell the juvs apart is that Coots have much more white on the face and neck. Have a look on google and you'll see what I mean.
