Unidentified Bird of prey in NW Spain

We saw this high above us near the French border and about 1km inland. It was roughly Buzzard size I suppose.
Wondered about a Golden Eagle but wrong wing shape, more like a Kite.
Can any British birders help?

Hello Rands I would suggest Golden Eagle, a sub adult with those white wing patches, I dont think its a Spanish Imperial but admit that I have never seen Spanish Imperial

Definitely Golden Eagle. Certainly not Buzzard size though as a Golden Eagle is roughly half to two thirds more than the size of a Buzzard.

Here is a photo I took of one in Spain earlier this year.

Looks like Golden Eagle then. I was thrown by the wing sahpe, and as you can see it was high up so the size was difficult to tell.
