Baby Tawny Owls - gorgeous

Very pleased with myself today! Knew they were about as seen them in the evening being fed. So went up just on the offchance they might be visible in daylight. They did not disappoint.

Lovely pictures - it's great how they stay around the nest area for a while after fledging! Do you now how many there are?

Not really sure. I think three babies in all, but hard to be sure. Still being fed by mum every night. They are just so amazing!!

Nice work Alison

We've had a young family in the garden and on the house roof for the last few nights and they've woken me up several times.

But do be careful as adult Tawnys can be quite aggressive and there have been many reports of humans being attacked, including the famous wildlife photographer Eric Hosking who lost an eye to a Tawny and who called his autobiography 'An Eye for a Bird'
