| | | Lots of Long-Tailed Tits This little flock of long-tailed tits have become regular visitors, I'm happy to say.
I managed to get a photo of them on my fatball feeder, which isn't very good quality, I'm afraid! (I'm almost ashamed to upload it, after seeing KentYeti's lovely GSW - my excuse is I've gone for quantity rather than quality! )
They've cleaned me out of fatballs again- they're going through about 2 a day now. |

Especially as I haven't seen a Long Tail Tit in my garden for several months now.

| | | Re: Lots of Long-Tailed Tits Ah, if only................. the only long-tailed tits I see here are way up the tops of the trees in the forested areas, or calling out en route from one area to another.
Here, there's too much choice and rural option for them.
The garden, on the other hand, seems to have been taken over by several small flocks of house-sparrows and their off-spring (plus blue and great-tits, to be fair).
We get through 6 (minimum - even at this time of year) fat-balls, half a kilogram of mixed feed and a couple of cupsful of sunflower seeds every day. I'm putting out very little in the way of peanuts and millet now though (my choice - I'm sure they'd demolish the lot, if offered).
Much as I'd like to stop feeding, those parents keep hatching chicks and bringing them to the Michelin 5* - where will it all end ??
