Eagle Owl Gloucester shot

An eagle owl which has been living in a quarry for the last year has been shot with an air rifle. Crime Watch today. Police would like information please

nightshade, I'm sorry I cannot give any information regarding this incident but I get so annoyed when I hear (which is all too often) of this sort of thing, I had to make my feelings known.

Luckily the bird survived after surgery and is now with the nearby Bird of Prey centre and flying again, to the delight of the visitors. They can't let it loose because it is not a British species, and is very used to people.

Theres a picture of him on my web site.
He's making a good recovery and has a lovely nature.
He will have to be kept cative now though, as not being a "British" species it is illegal to release him into the wild.
