yellowhammer pair or not

I took this photo while in dorset a week or so ago.I am pretty sure the bird with the grasshopper is a male but is the other a female ?. the reason i am unsure is that the male had another bird very nearby in another tree before the bird facing away flew in.Also i cannot see any the white tail feathers on this bird.

That's a pair of Yellowhammers, possibly collecting food for young.
