| | | nest I.D. please Hi everyone
My daughter found this nest yesterday in the garden, under some pine trees.
Its overall diameter is about 7" and 3" deep the actual nesting bit is about 3"
dia'.
Can anyone help?
Oh I've noticed some immature Great Tit around the feeders lately could this be a clue. Its asuburban garden in South Essex. |

| | | Re: nest I.D. please Possibly collared dove - great tits are hole nesters. An expert will be along soon with definite identification - doves/pigeons tend to build fairly flimsy nests and the size seems right for collared dove. |

| | | Re: nest I.D. please Mugsy - that is typical of what I have seen of collared doves! Perhaps we breed 'em stronger in the Peak District! |
