| | | Feather id help please. Hi,
i found this feather this evening in the farm yard where I live and was wondering if someone could id it. (and no its not a chicken as there are none on the farm )
It is about 6" long and 1 1/4" wide.
I'm in North Norfolk in a rural location with a varied habitat.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
Cheers David. |

| | | Re: Feather id help please. It's a Tawny Owl. That furry surface to the feather is very characteristic of owls, and you don't see it on other birds. It's there to muffle the sound as they fly. |

I was listening to a couple calling to each other fairly close by last night just after midnight.
