| | | What is this bird? Seen on a tree in my North London garden yesterday: a pair of tiny, slim, dark brown birds with russet crests. They flew off before I could photograph them. |

| | | Re: What is this bird? How tiny is tiny? The size of a Wren? A Blackbird?
It could be a Goldcrest ( http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/bird...est/index.aspx) Their crest will flare up at times
And welcome to the forum
Nige

| | | Re: What is this bird? Thanks to all for your welcome and suggestions, none of which fit, I'm afraid. The birds were very small and slim, about the size of a bluetit or a wren, maybe, but not as rounded in shape and really quite dark brown apart from their heads. There was no variation in the brown colouring. Two other people saw them, so I'm not hallucinating (unless we all were!). |
