| | | Night Heron, Herts There was a first summer Night Heron found at Stocker's Lake, Rickmansworth yesterday morning which hung around until evening.
Does anyone know if it's still around? I'm keeping an eye on Herts Bird Club and London Birders but nothing has been posted yet. Hopefully it'll be there tonight still!

Nige | Doesn't mean that it's not still in the area. Night Herons (as the name suggests) are generally not active during the day - they are typically crepuscular rather than nocturnal, so most active around dusk and dawn.
It's not unusual for them to be seen again in an area a few days after the last reported sighting. |
