| | | Help with Bird ID please - Thanks! Hi All,
This bird call is driving me potty!! I've never heard anything like it so its completely stumped me.
I can only describe it as uurrrrrrr - irrrrrrrrrr with the secong part of the call being a higher pitch than the first. I live in a country are with fields front and back and I heard it at about 9pm this evening. It sounds like a large - ish sort of bird and I think it started in the trees at the bottom of the garden, flew off then flew back.
Sorry its a rubbish description :-(
I've been through heaps of the calls on the RSPB site, none of which sound like what I heard.

Or turtle dove?
