| | | Red Kite sighting Today I was leaving the Tinshill estate of north-west Leeds and approaching Tinshill Lane on foot when I saw a large bird of prey. Looking closer I decided that it was a red kite circling over the roof tops. I watched it for a few minutes before noticing that there was a second kite flying towards the first. I assumed that these were a pair and probably from the release that happened a few years ago at Harewood House not that far away as a kite flies! It was just so unusual to see birds of prey in a built up area. |

| | | Re: Red Kite sighting Hi Orietta welcome to WAB, they seem to be spreading all over the place at the moment, I have seen over a dozen this year and had never seen any before.
I have seen them at Windsor, Reading, and Cobham in Surrey in the last few months, there have been reports on here from all over, they certainly are a success story!
