| | | They call me mellow yellow - ID please Took these this morning, quite psychedelic at 06.30, bird was flying round and round my head as I was walking, would settle (not on my head) and then fly around my head again, did this for about a hundred yards, calling all the time. Apologies for the poor quality they were a bit too far for my lens. |

| | | Re: They call me mellow yellow - ID please Dagnabbit, I looked at Yellow Wagtail and discarded the idea and then plumped for some kind of warbler, didn't think of grey (or Blue).
Many thanks Adam |

| | | Re: They call me mellow yellow - ID please It's a Yellow Wagtail, but a British race female (not a Blue-headed). A Blue headed would have a whitish supercilium, and a blue-grey cap and cheek. |

| | | Re: They call me mellow yellow - ID please Yes, they like to breed in rape and beans. They sit on top of the crop, near the nest, and give an alarm call (a single repeated note - something like teuu) even when you're quite far away. |
