| | | pheasant nesting in front garden A pheasant is sitting on 13 eggs in my front garden 3 yards from a quiet road. A farmers field with grass is behind a hedge in the back garden. Should the brood hatch, will the mum lead them to safety and food into the back garden and then over the hedge? There are no dogs or cats actually living in the road, , but foxes are seen and lots of sea gulls. Pheasants, male and female are frequently seen in the back garden, but have not ventured into the front, till this nest was discovered. Has anyone experienced a brood of pheasants in a residential road? |

| | | Re: pheasant nesting in front garden Never experienced this myself, but I'm fairly sure pheasants are like chickens, in that as soon as the young hatch they are mobile, so chances are the mother will take them away. You will probably look out one day and she will have disappeared with her brood. I'm pretty sure they just leave the nest and don't return once they have all hatched. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
