Magpie broods

Eveything ive read says magpies only have one brood a year yet a pair nesting close to my home look as if they are geting ready for a second brood. They have already raised 4 young this year which are still around, but have this week seen adults cleaning out the nest and adding new lining to the nest are they going breed again 1st brood left nest in mid april.

How do you know its the same pair?

They only have one brood, they will only lay a new clutch if the first clutch is lost.

One the of the pair has a ring on its leg the other has very thin white line down left wing(looking from behind) no these two well be round here for few years not always together as a pair though.
