| | | Farne Islands I had a brilliant trip to Staple Island yesterday. Fantastic! Saw lots of birds I've obviously never seen before like puffins and shags - I know, I'm just getting into this! I can't believe I have lived in the NE all my life and have never been there before.... I will definitely go back despite having to get into a boat again! Photos to go in the library.

| | | Re: Farne Islands Well done Galanthophile. I went up there last weekend, but the weather meant we were unable to get to the islands at all . But we called in at Bempton Cliffs on the way back home, so not a complete loss... still can't decide whether to try again this year - as you say, it is an amazing place. And the breakfast we enjoyed on the outskirts of Newcastle would definitely be a plus factor . |

This birding hobby can get very addictive..... and expensive
