Although you've got to applaud it's beak control: getting, holding and then flying off with those two chunks of fat balls in it's beak!
Never seen Magpies on feeders before this year. They are getting quite good with the peanut feeder as well.
It almost has that, "Oops, I've been spotted. These are actually for my friends and not for me", look on it's face!

Bryan  | LOL,  what an Awesome picture too  the magpie we have never ventures to the feeding station but instead likes to rummage around the garden looking for whatever he can find :P |

At least one has now mastered it.
If it costs me more in fat balls that's OK, especially as I haven't seen any signs of them attacking the young song birds in the garden. Yeti. LOL!

ROFL,
now they know how to use it, you can gurantee they will be back to it :P he probably teach all his pals how to do it too lol but at least they are leaving the songbirds alone while they are focusing on the fat balls instead |

| | | Re: Greedy Magpie First year I've had magpies on my feeders too, demolishing the fat. They're always around, but until recently, have rarely ventured into my garden. Having said that, they're usually seen off by collared doves now, which is saving me a little cash...
