Hi all,
With all the cute fledgling bird pictures appearing on here, I thought i'd add my own.
Whilst walking in the peaks last week we headed back from Cressbrook Dale through a place called water-cum-jolly where we came across this family of Mute Swans.  
Certainly not an 'ugly duckling' and lets hope all five survive.

I hoped you'd post your photos David. They're lovely!
I took some myself the week before - but the family were further down river and were rather hidden by vegetation, so they weren't so good.   
This is the only shot I managed with them out in the open....

I saw some of similar size at a local quarry yesterday - they are beautiful. |
