| | | Amazing surprise. Sitting with the bedroom window open watching young Great Spotted woodpeckers feeding in the garden.
Suddenly lots of commotion and a young chaffinch flew straight into the bedroom window
very close to me.
Followed very swiftly by a Sparrowhawk who caught it before it hit the floor and both then landed directly in front of me.
Managed to get this wonderful photo.
Sad for the Chaffinch but a good opportunity for me. |

| | | Re: Amazing surprise. Amazing to see this happening in front of you. Recently I've come home from work to find piles of feathers so I obviously missed the main event. Great photo! |

| | | Re: Amazing surprise. Excellent photo! and well done on having the sense to grab the camera in time!
I'd have sat there stunned until after the Sparrowhawk had finished the main course and moved onto pudding before it would have occurred to me that- "Oh- I should take a photo of this." | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
