Male Chafinch
Saw this bird in my garden yesterday and today. How wouls I attract them more?

Do you have feeders? They will take seeds such as sunflowers from feeders. And beneath feeders, so if you do start feeding them, I'd suggest you are ready to adopt a rigorous feeder cleaning regime so they don't succumb to disease.

They seem to love the sprinkling of mixed seed i put out for them in the front garden...

Chaffinches don't seem to be as acrobatic as other common finches, and often have difficulty landing on hopper-type feeders. If you put black sunflower seeds on a wire tray they'll love you for it.
