| | | OK to put peanuts out now? Hi All,
I've read in various places that peanuts should not be out for birds during the breeding season.
I have one of those mesh feeders, that I think make it impossible for birds to take a full peanut. Will it be ok to put it back out in the garden now? I took it in when there were lots of chicks / fledglings in the area.
Any advice on this?
Cheers. |

Other people will have their own point of view about this, but I would not put peanuts out till about late august (even crushed peanut).

| | | Re: OK to put peanuts out now? Observing the fledglings i get in my garden, the nuts i put out are for the squirrels ( to stop them eating the ground seed i put out for the birds, which doesnt work.. )
they all seem to hit the sunflower seeds and coconut shells i have put up...
and also the fat balls and fat cake ....
so they dont seem to be intrested in them...

Terry | Why? I'd be interested to know your reason for this. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
