National Nest Box Day

Just a reminder that February 1st is National Nest Box Day. Look out for any happenings in your locality. Your local Birding group may be doing something special and if you need new nest boxes they are the people to see. Not only to buy but help on making your own.

I put 5 boxes up two weekends ago. Last year we only had one and successfully reared a family of Great Tits. My first ever success in any garden of mine. It would be great if all 5 were used.

i have had a few boxes up for a while but only used by spiders and earwigs! the surrounding area must just have ample nesting places. i do want to get an olw box up on a tree at the ent of the garden though and see what happens, will proberbly get jackdaws in it?!!
