| | | Re: Bird ID Oh dear! I thought it was something less common. I only have a small bird guide and it looks like the illustration for juvenile starling but there is no illustration for juvenile Thrush.
Using the illustrations in my book the plumpness behind legs would suggest a Thrush. That feature is absent for the Starling. I'll happily be corrected by folks more expert than I.

Thanks for advice so far. | A juvenile Thrush would be spotty/speckly and a more rusty brown colour.
