Weekly bike ride brings a fav...

... while on one of my weekly bike rides around my local nature reserve (Marton Mere, Blackpool) I caught my first glimpse this year of the local Barn Owl.

Obviously successful with chicks this year as over an hour period it caught at least 7 voles. Each time returning to the same part of the field to locate more. Luckily for me I had taken my camera along and am quite happy with the outcome. Hopefully aiming for even better shots in the coming weeks.

Where abouts in Marton Mere is it hunting? That's my local patch too

If you head from Lawsons Wetland.. up the hill then right towards the Mere, go through the main gate and head all the way down until the path turns to the right heading to the caravan park. Stay on this path and look towards Staining, cannot miss it. If you see someone with a goatee and shaved head taking pics that will be me
