Blue Tits: two dead in bird box

Recently my mother noticed unusual activity around her window bird box. After a day or so she opened the box to find two fully feathered young Blue Tits dead.

There was a growth in the throat area of both the young and appears as if they had a desease of some sort!!!!

Does anyone know of this happening? How does it occur? And what remedies for the birdbox?

Any info would be grately appreciated.

I'm afraid I can't be of any help to you, but I wanted to add that two days ago I too found a fully feathered blue tit chick dead with what appeared to be a small growth protruding from the throat area. I had no idea what it was or what could have caused it, or even whether it was perhaps normal? It's the only time I've ever held a blue tit and it probably wouldn't have been visible under the feathers other than I had a quick look over it to see if I could tell what happened to it. This one was very newly fledged (day or 2) and was beneath some shrubbery.
