GSW Chick and Adults

Not the best photo's in the world as I was shooting into the light but I thought they might be worth sharing. It has been a very good year for them near me, four nests in less than a mile in the woods behind my house (and this is in the middle of town). I've managed to spot the adults feeding at all four but only got pictures from one.
Is it possible to sex the chick? After this one had fledged the next one at the hole had a very much less red head or was that simply because it was lss developed?

Superb series of photos. I have no idea if or how one could sex the chicks without close examination.

top class pics.... brilliant.. its about this time last year , just when i started birding that i see juvi's on my feeders... cant wait, thats if they nested in the woods again.
