What's up with this magpie?

Spotted this fellow this morning and was using it as photo practice (I still have a long way to go lol). Anyways one of it's eyes was completely shut and the other all puss looking and it wasn't until I checked the pics on my pc that I noticed it has growths on it's feet/legs too. Should I be concerned with this spreading to other birds? It used some of the feeders as well as perching on the fence.

Hi ~T~, I can't see the foot clearly in your pics, but could it possibly be bumblefoot? 'Bumblefoot' is the result of a cut in the foot and subsequently being infected with bacteria. It's seen more in large birds (corvids, BoPs) and AFAIK, the condition itself is not contagious.

I once had a crow with bumblefoot visit my garden daily for a good two years. Towards the end he began limping on his good leg, then his eyes looked just like the magpie in your pic and, unsurprisingly, I never saw him again.
