| | | Swifts and house martins gone with the wind After the violent storm we had in Scotland last week, all of the house martins and swifts in our neighbourhood have gone. We had a healthy number arriving this year too. I know that, later in the year, swifts can go away during bad weather and their chicks go into torpor, but they hadn't got as far as having their chicks yet. I can't get my head round what might be happening with them now. It's still very windy here and forecast to stay that way next week. Does anyone have any ideas? Am concerned. |

| | | Re: Swifts and house martins gone with the wind good question, seems to be house martin numbers are down round here as well, but plenty of swifts around, house martins have been slowly declining over the years round our area, dont know about the rest of the country, rossy. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
