| | | Re: first juvenile Saw my first this morning on my back fence. I had a block of cheese that was past it's use by date so popped it into a square mesh feeder the night before and a pair of starlings were busy feeding thier 2 chicks with it. They make such a racket when they beg for food |

Great to see all the youngsters out and about, so far I've had 5 Blue Tit fledglings (+ both parents), 2 Dunnocks (+ 1 parent) and a bunch of Starling youngsters.

| | | Re: first juvenile They're great, the young starlings, and yes, they do make a racket. Our 'garden' starling flock has got 11 juveniles; however down the road, in the fields alongside the Trent, there is a flock with upwards of 40 young. I lost count at that point as a heron flew over and they all took off.
Great birds to watch, anytime, but especially this time of year. IMO.
Cheers, Nik.
