Bird ID please

I saw this bird on the beach at Skegness a week ago, sorry about the quality of the picture:

I usually get my waders mixed up, but I think this is a Sanderling (Calidris alba)

I'm the same I'm not very good with waders at all; went down to Gibraltar Point and out of the birds I'd never seen before, the only one I could identify was an avocet

Whilst not a birder, I was taught to learn learn and learn the features of a Dunlin and use that species as a ball park for the other similar ones. Can't say it has really worked

A dunlin; is that at all a small bird which flies with quite stiff wings, showing a white bar on it's wings when it flies? There were quite a lot of these on the beach

Looks like a winter Sanderling but a bit late in changing his plumage. could be a vagrant Little Stint.

A Dunlin's summer and winter plumage varies greatly, plus you get all the in between stages.
