He's been like it for a few weeks now.
I think he must have a low beam in his nest box

He is going through moult and there will be lots like this coming through wab soon..

They moult after breeding. | It isn't moult. The earliest adult tits start moulting about now, but this first invovles the tail and wings, then the body. The head is the last thing to be moulted, around August or later.
This bird has probably had an altercation with something, either when foraging, maybe during a fight for nest sites, or maybe when defending the nest from a predator/intruder (when the head is thrust at them during the hissing display). |
