| | | Bird ID please! Small yellow guy Went for a walk over Connaught Waters - Epping forest today and saw plenty of water birds (including a magnificent Mandarin! Pics to follow) but not sure what this little guy is.
Im not a bird watcher per-say but they offer a decent and frequent challenge. What i can tell you is that it was small, say robin-sparrow sized, it was living in the tree where it's perched, it took it's food in there and stayed inside. The RSPB bird identifier hasnt really helped much so im hoping you guys can |

Is it usual for them to nest in holes in trees and such? Im sure Im right in thinking they are unable to make the holes themselves. |

You are correct in saying that they don't make the hole themselves but will find a hole that is suitable be it natural or a man made nesting box. I have a pair on the farm here that are nesting in a gap between a barn door frame and the wall and they are now feeding young. |

| | | Re: Bird ID please! Small yellow guy I've learned something new then! I always thought they made nests in trees and bushes! | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
