Hi, whilst out walking I came across this duck, can't ID it at all from the selection of Bird books I have, can anyone help please.
Its quite big and thats a Mallard behind which gives it a sense of scale.  |

It's a domestic bred Mallard form. |

Hi Tarp
In the wild, there are many strange crosses due to domestic escapees and deliberate abandonment.
It looks like a Heinz 57 variety but I'll watch with interest in case someone can put a name to any. 
ps. Looks like it may be a drake due to a slight curl that might be on its way. |
