| | | Birdsong on Smartphones Stating the obvious for most on here I would have thought, but an interesting article in the Daily Mail (so take it with a large pinch of salt ) today. Seems it's all down to those pesky photographers, as usual... |

| | | Re: Birdsong on Smartphones On the BBC News website too: BBC News - Birdsong apps prompt Attenborough Nature Centre alert
"Photographers using mobile phone applications to attract birds could be harming wildlife, wardens have said.
Staff at Attenborough Nature Centre, near Nottingham, said there had been incidents of birdsong recorded on smart phones being used to lure the animals.
This could distress nesting birds and even put their young at risk, they warned.
While it is illegal to disturb nesting birds, staff have said they just want people to show more consideration."

| | | Re: Birdsong on Smartphones not something i've witnessed there, although i havent been down for a couple of weeks. I wouldn't be surprised that this is happening to be fair, the cetti's are coming out in the open quite a lot so it would probably tempt people to try and lure them.
There's no need to lure the groppers there though, there's one which has been reeling from a fence post within a few metres of birders. I got a shot of it a few weeks back, still haven't uploaded it though!!!
