| | | Hawk Silhouette, but which one? Just having a walk on the heath early evening and glanced up to spot this bird coming towards me. Didn't have time to change to camera settings so glad some detail came out. Pretty much ruled out everything except a hawk on the spot but it looked pretty darn big for a sprawk, although that's what I'd go with first, female sprawk, just gliding along.
What do you think!?

| | | Re: Hawk Silhouette, but which one? I'll stick my neck out here, I thought buzzard at first, but the eyes aren't right and the pattern and overall body & tail strikes me as a Honey Buzzard? I don't know the likelihood of this so hopefully someone more well informed will speak up

| | | Re: Hawk Silhouette, but which one? Hmmmm, tricky one. Can certainly see why cuckoo has been mentioned but i reckon it could be a honey buzzard. Nice spot if confirmed |
