| | | could this be a baby robin, please? This little chap was sitting in full sun on a track where he could have been trodden on (I nearly did) or run over. I moved him to the side in some weeds - which didn't supply much enough shade. When I moved him again, he ceased his apathy and let out a little squawk.
At his point, a robin flew out of the shrubs, but did a hand-brake turn when she saw me.
Yesterday, I passed the spot again and - on the opposite track - was a dead baby. I'm hoping it wasn't the bird I moved and am a little consoled because I think it was a bit smaller.
My question is, really, whether or not this actually IS a robin. Those feet are simply HUGE.

I wondered if it had fallen - or would it been of an age when a usurper might have pushed it out ?
