| | | Mallard Duck Back To Nesting Site We got a duckling at about 1 week old and raised it and it became very tame.
After she nested and had her 8 babies we put them in a blacked out rucksack and released both Mummy and Babies at a local pond site as all the waste from the babies was killing our fish..... That was over a year ago.
Imagine my surprise when I woke up Friday to find her back at our pond .... How did she do it ... she couldnt see where we transported her to and from ??
She has a male with her so I am assuming she has come back to nest again (another black rucksack needed soon I expect).
The only problem is that she is so tame with us cause she knows us she is happy to come in the house and feed out our hand but the male flyes off every time we step foot in the garden ....... Dont know what to do really ??? |

Sorry, can't offer any constructive advice, but I do think this is rather sweet. Maybe you could set up your own Mallard Centre, and charge people to view them lol |

I was very touched to see her back bless her ... Although we live on a estate and not sure what the neighbours think when they see a duck coming in to land !!
Will post a pic of her xx | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
