Magpie squirrels?

I have often seen a squirrel in my garden, taking peanuts and burying them in the lawn to eat at a later date. All very normal, you may think. And so did I. However, in the last couple of weeks I have seen a Magpie arrive in the garden after I have put out water-swollen raisins onto the bird's tray on the lawn. He will eat some, but he also does what the squirrel does and takes some and buries them in the lawn at various locations. Has anybody else ever seen this behaviour from a Magpie?

Jays bury acorns etc. Magpies are well known for hiding things. Corvids learn from each other ie. All of the crows and Magpies in one area will peck out lambs eyes and rectums yet the habit is unknown a few mile away. Put this together and -well, yes, it is more than likely.

I have a pair of jays come down ( this morning in fact ) , but i haven't a lawn so they dont do that sort of thing in my garden .the next door nieghbour gets it ...
