| | | Unidentified Bird's Egg Hi folks,
my parents found the below egg (near Bodmin Moor in Cornwall) earlier this month. Colour and shape look quail-like to me (there are gamebirds in the region), but at about 2cm long I'm thinking that's a bit small. Any ideas?
Cheers,
Marc. |

I think it's a Pheasant egg, due to the size but also the colour and shape, which are subtley different from Grey Partridge (but both are a bit variable). |

| | | Re: Unidentified Bird's Egg I would go along with pheasant too. More rounded that the pointier partridge egg. Some marks on the shell that could be from grasping crows foot and nails. |
