just been out to move my trusty lada niva which has sat for a while. there happens to be an active wasp nest somewhere under the bonnett. went back into house to observe from a safe distance (with a door as added protection) how the wasps figure that one out and noticed a grey squirrel dead under where said car had been. along comes a great tit , lands on squirrel and proceeds to pluck fur from it. away it flies, so out i go to do some inspection (ever mindful of not so happy wasps). turns out the squirrel, which was lying on its front, had all the fur removed from its tail and entire back all the way up to its head. completely bald ! nice one mr great tit.
don't you just hate greys. where i live in ayrshire there used to be loads of reds in the garden. the first grey arrived about 6 years ago. havent seen a red in 4 years : ( the only consolation is they do make good target practice

I can only assume the Great Tit was collecting fur for nesting material!

Looks like your car will be stationary for a while longer too!
