| | | Hobbie's Hello all
I had a great day yesterday, saw about 20-30 hobbies flying round catching dragon fly's.
funny thing was i was looking at a dragon fly, waiting for it to land to take a photo, when not a hobbie but a chaffinch swooped and took it
Also there were plenty of Arctic terns. |

| | | Re: Hobbie's Hobbies are exquisite birds to watch- where did you see them?
By the way your tern is a Common Tern with a longer black tipped bill .Arctic Tern also shows all the primaries to be translucent. |

You are right, my apolagies, It's a commen tern, not a Arctic tern.
Someone there watching told me they were arctic terns, Did not think to check.
That's why i post? Im learning as i go.
Thanks. |

At the moment the best area to visit is probably Seventy Acres Lake and the surrounding area (a bit north of Cornmill Meadows) - but you would be unlucky not to see at least one anywhere in the area if you keep an eye out. |
