Tit Confirmation Please.

This Coal Tit doesn't look right to me. Any thoughts?

It looks pretty normal to me. Don't forget that at this time of year they lose condition with all the hard work they're doing either making nests or raising young.

Yeah, I suppose. I think I've been seeing problems where there are none. Time to put away the snaps and get an early night.It'll look perfectly normal next time I look at it. lol. Thanks,

The bibs on Coal Tits do vary a bit, with age and sex. This one is a very 'maley' male, with a large bib leaching down onto the breast sides. You can also easily see the glossiness of the cap.

I wondered if it might be an age thing. I guess I knew it couldn't be anything else but a Coal Tit but you know how it is, sometimes you just feel something's not right and then it turns out to be obvious. These juveniles can be a bitch though when you're just learning and all these females that look just like loads of other LBJ's. lol. Tired eyes don't help. Thanks all the same.

I see what you mean..its a nice shot Jack..
I had coal tits in my garden all winter eating my seeds spitting them all over the floor (in protest) when I changed the seed mix then cleared off..

Thanks El. Tit shots are the hardest, they will jiggle about so!

Ungrateful buggers you'd think they would be content with a free meal lol

I suppose you're unlikely to please all of your customers, it's a pity everything's so pricey these days, and nobody wants to see waste.
