| | | Worried for a family of Robins Hi there,
We have had robins nesting in some old ivy in the backgarden and up until today we've regularly seen two adult robins moving back and forth for most of the day feeding their young (who we can hear squeaking away). In the late afternoon yesterday though we kept seeing the neighbour's cat sitting on the fence near where the nest is -I shooed it away whenever I saw it.
Now today, there has only been the one robin in the garden and he/she has been flying from one fence to another, not going anywhere near the nest, and singing. He/she have been doing this all day, but we've not heard a peep from the nest.
We fear the worst but hoped that perhaps this was part of the their normal behaviour and that perhaps the little guys have flown the nest already. Not knowing much about birds ourselves, is there anyone that could help?
Thank you. |

| | | Re: Worried for a family of Robins Listen out for other noises (high pitched and chick-like) all this might mean they have fledged. The movement around the garden could be because the hungry mouths are now all over the place.

| | | Re: Worried for a family of Robins Many thanks for the reply -we'll certainly keep an eye and ear out. The robin that had been chirping all morning has apparently gone now, so perhaps the little ones have indeed flown. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
