for as long as i can remember house martins up our end have always returned on or around the 1st of may, this year is no exception, all i need to see now is the swifts. rossy.

I noticed a pair of House Martins yesterday feeding around the buildings at the top end of Baker Street near Regent's Park.

Saw my first Swifts today moving over one of my local woods, but not hanging around.

And this very morning I've seen a pair coming out of one of the nests on the side of our house - it's great to see them back

Saw about 6 of them flying low over marshes by the River Waveney in Suffolk yesterday - read somewhere that they head to the edge of water first to feed up after the journey.

My local house martins returned on the 21st April, one day before their latest date. The swifts aren't back yet. Last year they were early, first one back on the 27th April.

The first House Martins were back at Ruislip lido where they breed on the houses. Also quite a few Swifts- summer is here!
