Use the site Xeno canto - Europe to hear calls and songs, RSPB too, although I don't think they have many calls-mainly songs. Take a listen to the species suggested first

I live about 500mtrs from the sea and I heard it from my garden. I am sure the bird is common but I cannot get a sighting of it. I have heard the same call in other parts of my village. It is a call about 2-3secs long and it has a metallic ring to it. The pitch does not vary
