| | | Re: Hobby feeding Great stuff. Hopefully I'll see some tomorrow if I make it to Stodmarsh. Is the Grove Ferry or Stodmarsh end best? |

| | | Re: Hobby feeding Both really. I saw two when I was about half way between the David Feast and Harrison's Drove hides, which puts me at the Grove Ferry end. But I had better views and more birds on the path south of the reedbeds at the Stodmarsh end.

| | | Re: Hobby feeding Agree with Dave- both ends had birds. Best views were over the Lampen Wall at the Stodmarsh end where i had 10 birds in the air at the same time over the large reedbed + lake where the terns breed.
I did see birds along the whole walk + several feeding over the Grove Ferry end. |

| | | Re: Hobby feeding These lovely birds are my latest venture to photograph. And Oh My, aren't they hard to capture! Made my third long visit today to Stodmarsh, (in four days). And whilst a bit off topic, I waited from 06.00 to 13.00 before they got going. Although I do know they tend to be late risers, and I had hoped to get some close ups of Harriers whilst I waited. But those magnificent birds hunted mainly in the distance! LOL.
Back to the Hobbys.
From my three visits it seems the best place to see a good number is between the David Feast and Marsh Hides. Between the two small bridges over dykes that the path between the two follows. Today circa ten in that general area at the busiest. With reports of plenty more up by the David Feast hide.
Yesterday I was told the "bird counters" saw circa 30 in the air at once on the area of Grove Ferry and Stodmarsh reserves.
I think I've got one half decent photo which I'll stick on the Gallery later. But it's 6.15. I've been up since 04.20. And I spent over 11 hours sitting in cramped hides ar walking round Stodmarsh. Or standing in the open photographing the hobbys. And have just done nearly 500 step ups. Overweight and aging Yetis have to do their exercise everyday.
So I need a shower and a few minutes rest. And a pizza.
PS. Anyone know how long the bulk of them are likely to stay there before moving on? Is it just down to food supply? I do plan to go back tomorrow if the sun still shines.
Cheers,
Bryan
